My Field of Five
Welcome to the first publication under my new domain, FIELD TRIP FRIDAY. I’ve thought a lot about the messages I want to communicate and feelings I hope to evoke when someone sees this in their inbox. Everything about a field trip sums up the excitement and spark I hope to deliver. I’m so glad you’re here.
I recently wrote about the 5 liquid rule and have decided to create a new monthly series that I’m calling My Five Field of Five:
What is very present in my life right now:
Supplements and the importance of immune system health. Someone in our house is pretty much always sick at any given moment, even our dog. I swear these mushroom capsules are keeping my immunity at just above baseline functionality or higher. I also started taking Glutathione because I listened to a podcast about the damage chlorine does to our bodies and that Glutathione is particularly helpful (I swim 3 times a week so this got my attention). I like Seeking Health, but there are so many so pick one you’ve researched (a doctor I trust also recommended Quicksilver). Finally, beloved Sakara recently launched new liquid multivitamins that are SO GOOD. Usually liquid medicine tastes… medicinal? This does not.
Delightful Dailies (aka what I’ve recommended before and continue to like):
I’m sure this is painfully obvious, but I do not get paid for anything I link or recommend on here. I just like to try things and do a lot of research on stuff I buy. I’d love to have some sort of curated shop of lovely things, and in a way that’s what this category is going to be. Some of my delightful dailies that are worth a (re)mention are anything from May Lindstrom for skin and body, a morning shot of Magic Mind, and this $5 tool that gets lemon juice from a lemon better than anything fancier, bigger and more expensive.
Something obvious that I’ve heard my whole adult life but am only just now embracing:
Using a tailor. They are amazing! I recently took a dress in that I never wear and had them change it into a shirt for $12.
Quote or concept that I can’t stop thinking about:
“An hour is not just an hour, it is a vessel full of perfumes, sounds, plans and atmospheres.” - Marcel Proust
A recent home Feng Shui adjustment:
Art has a huge influence on our spaces and can provide feedback on what is happening (or not happening) in our lives and in the area of the bagua that the art is placed. I have a piece from Duane Keiser that I treasure and I’ve always had it in my workspace, right above my computer. I started to notice reluctancy around being at my desk and used my FS tools to evaluate why. When you see the photo below you will probably laugh. …I mean, I had a giant cocktail glass hanging over my head! No wonder I didn’t want to work at my desk -every time I sat there I was getting larger than life signals to go relax! I moved it immediately to the living room and not only do we get to admire it more in there, but my productivity and energy around being at my desk is COMPLETELY different. Evaluate your art and where it is placed!

Thank you for reading,
Rachel
